Using A Water Wall To Enhance Meditation

September 14th, 2011

Meditation and yoga often incorporate elements of nature in order to relax the mind of the practitioner and enhance the experience, but this can be particularly difficult for urban practitioners. A water wall is one particularly clever way that many people get around this issue and bring a little piece of nature to their homes to increase their creativity and calm their nerves. This little step can go a long way toward truly enhancing the meditative experience and canceling out the white noise of urban living long enough to really get into the meditation.

In days of old people would seek out natural beauties like waterfalls or gently running streams to practice their meditation in, yet these spots are becoming more rare and especially difficult to find without tourists or other people around to interrupt the scene. These days people are much more inclined to practice in the comfort of their own homes, depriving them of the natural meditative aides to increase their focus and relax their nerves. A good water wall, on the other hand, can bring the benefits of seeking out a natural waterfall into your living room without dealing with the distractions of other people or exceedingly long journeys to find one. Additionally, since water walls are designed to negate splashing you can sit directly in front of the wall and enjoy the soothing sound of trinkling water without any of the distractions.

Nothing can truly replace the sheer beauty and wonder of a natural waterfall on a mountainside somewhere, but good water walls can come close. Adding one to your meditation room will go a long way toward enhancing your experience and putting your mind at peace before you sit down to meditate.
